Tokyo-based fashion brand and project PERVERZE is pleased to announce the release of a new bag collection developed in collaboration with renowned product designer Fumie Shibata. The collection was first unveiled at the design event DESIGN TIDE, where it drew significant attention, and following the strong response, it will now see its long-awaited official launch.

The collaboration began with an invitation from the PERVERZE design team, born from a shared resonance between PERVERZE's pursuit of craftsmanship and Shibata's philosophy in product design.
The bags are constructed from a single piece of leather, pressed into a deep dish-like shape using an oval curved mold, then folded and sewn. This method of forming natural leather represents a technically advanced approach that required three years of material research and development. By altering the folding direction of the leather and the shape of the handle, diverse silhouettes emerge from a single mold, resulting in a collection that is both simple and expansively versatile. The precision of 3D modeling combined with artisanal sewing techniques has produced bags that are modern yet organic, embodying a truly unique design.

この度プロダクトデザイナー・柴田文江氏と共同開発した新たなバッグを発売します。本商品はデザインイベント「DESIGN TIDE」で先行して披露され、その注目度は非常に高いものでした。その後の反響を受けて、ついに待望の発売となります。

共同開発のプロジェクトは、PERVERZEデザインチームからのオファーをきっかけに始まりました。
PERVERZEが大切にしてきたものづくりへの探求と、柴田文江氏のプロダクトデザインにおける思想が共鳴したことに端を発します。

本バッグコレクションは、楕円曲面の型によるプレス成型で深皿状に仕上げた一枚革を折り曲げることで構成され、縫製されています。本革を用いた成形は、技術的にも非常に高度な試みであり、素材と成形の研究に3年もの歳月を費やしました。レザーの折り返し方向やハンドルの形状を変えることで、ひとつの型から多様なフォルムが生まれ、シンプルでありながら拡張性のあるコレクションが完成しました。3Dソフトによって精密にコントロールされたフォルムと、クラフトマンシップによる縫製が融合することで、現代的でありながらどこか有機的な、これまでにないバッグに仕上がっています。

The collection will be available starting Saturday, August 23, at PERVERZE Aoyama and PERVERZE Kyoto stores.

本商品は、8月23日(土)よりPERVERZE青山店ならびにPERVERZE京都店にて販売開始となります。

Fumie Shibata is a leading product designer engaged in a wide range of projects with domestic and international manufacturers, spanning electronics, furniture, medical equipment, and hotel direction. She is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Elle Deco International Design Award (Grand Prix in Lighting), Red Dot Award Best of the Best, iF Design Award Gold, Mainichi Design Award, and Good Design Award Gold. She is a professor at Tama Art University and author of "Forms Within Forms."
